Upcycling is the new shopping, and one of the most affordable ways to refresh your home. Tap into your DIY genes and incorporate affordable redesigns in your home decor. They’ll fit in with many design ideas with their custom look and tiny price tag.

Decoupage fine art posters onto your kitchen cupboard doors.

Spray paint vases, jars and lamps for colored glassware.

Turn a painted branch into a curtain rod.

Hang baskets on the wall as decorative shelving.

Frame a piece of screening and use it as an earring holder.

Glue magnets onto coins or marbles for the refrigerator.

Turn wine glasses, coffee mugs or tea cups into candles.

Glue a glass plate onto an upside-down wine glass for a cake stand.

Drop votive candles into wine glasses for decorative lighting.

Turn cartoon sheets into curtains for the ultimate character kids’ room.

Selling your home means showing it at its best, but that doesn’t have to mean spending a fortune. For many more ideas on DIY decorating, staging your home or real estate questions in general, contact me, Karen Spechler, at Coldwell Banker. I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
