Homebuyers: 1 in 3 clueless about mortgages

As real estate agents we understand that our clients are not going to be as aware of the processes involved in a real estate transaction as we are. Homebuyers may only purchase a home several times in their lives, while we are constantly involved in real estate transactions.

It was quite surprising however, to read a recent article from CBS News that many homebuyers just don’t know what they are doing when it comes to their home mortgages. The article discussed that 31% of home buyers did not understand basic terms involved with their home loans and most never even came close to reading mortgage documents.

It is just another reason why homebuyers need a trusted real estate agent on their side. A real estate agent on your team can help answer the questions you may be afraid to ask. They can help explain the process and help guide you through what to expect.
